On Friday April 21 members of Bangor and North Down Camera Club gathered for their annual dinner and prize giving and on April 28 the Bangor club hosted The NIPA [Northern Ireland Photographic Association]Novice Competition
The annual dinner and prize giving was well attended as during this last year the club has returned to face to face meeting following the disruption of Covid restrictions.
This was a welcome return to the display of actual prints and but also images for digital projection and is celebrated as the final competition event in the formal season which extends from September to May.
It was thus that on Friday May 05 members welcomed Matthew Canning to judge the exhibition submissions.
Matthew took care to consider the work on display making comment and offering his advice on the many different sections of the competition as noted below:

This brings the 2022 -23 formal season to a close so now Wednesday informal meetings will continue until the return of the formal 23 -24 season in September .
The club welcomes new members both experienced photographers or those wishing to develop an interest in a challenging and rewarding skill .To this end the club is considering the launch of a programme of seminars aimed at those wishing to embark on their photographic development .Details of this have as yet to be finalised and it is hoped to provide details for a roll out during the summer Those wishing to join the club may contact the club secretary Hazel Newel at bndccsecretary@gmail.com
or come along on any Wednesday where you will be welcome to speak to established members and obtain further information .
It is hoped to stage an exhibition of members work during the summer, venue and details to be announced soon .
