2020/2021 Exhibition - Judges feedback

On Friday 23rd April 2021 we had our clubs yearly Photography Exhibition with a staggering 234 entries which were divided into ten categories with a majority of categories having both Advanced and Novice entries.

We had the pleasure of Vittorio Silvestri from CPA Camera Club to judge our members entries. Vittorio had quite a challenge to judge such a high number of photographs, but completed his task with brief but constructive feedback for each photo.

The judging opened and Vittorio worked his way through a broad range of photography subjects. These included Sports, buildings, animals, nature, abstract, landscape, portraits and others. He gave valuable feedback and advice as to how the members photographs could be improved, for example .. composition, trying different crops, altering light, to name just a few.

Vittorio also balanced his judging with pointing out the positives in members photographs including good perspective, scale, right lighting, composition and so forth.

After judging was over Vittorio was asked to pick a few more winners before escaping which are as follows.

Top Mono which was “The Cyclist” by Gerry Coe, Top Colour which was “Strawberry Blonde” by Alastair Bell and Top PDI which was “Cliffs” by Gerry Coe.

The Club would like to thank Vittorio for all his hard work, it was greatly appreciated. Congratulations to all the winners, those who were placed and also a massive thank you to everyone who entered their images into the exhibition. We wouldn’t have had such a successful competition without you all.

Finally a thank you to The Exhibition secretary Alan McMorris and Competition Secretary Harry Watson for their hard work to make everything run smoothly.

All the entries from the club's 2021 Exhibition can be viewed by clicking on 'Exhibition 2021' above.
